John & Beth Muehleisen

We attended Easter services at Good Shepherd Africa Gospel Church and heard a great report on how the pastors in Nairobi, although greatly divided at first, were able to unite after the election and have worked to bring about healing in the major cities that were affected by violence.

Pray that the Kenyan church will become a force for truth, righteousness, justice, and mercy as it reaches out to those who are suffering.

We have already made a trip to Uganda to get a firsthand look at the ministries taking place in that country through World Gospel Mission and to see how we can be used to assist the work there. Part of what we will be doing is to assist the missionaries with pastors' and pastors' wives training as well as helping to support the newer missionary staff. We will actually be based in Kampala, Uganda, for several months later this year as John fills in for the field director while he is in the States for home ministry assignment. It will also give John an opportunity to explore potential areas of expansion into surrounding African countries.

Pray for God's plan for transforming Africa through WGM and for committed African men and women to help us.

This week Terry Duncan, our East Africa regional director, is making a trip to Sudan with the purpose of getting WGM officially registered there. Sudan is an amazing country with amazing needs. It is the largest country in Africa (the size of the United States east of the Mississippi River), and is just starting to recover from almost 30 years of civil war. We are already training pastors and church planters there, helping to build schools, teaching literacy, and laying the groundwork for holistic community development projects.

Pray for God to lead the way in knowing what areas to target and for discernment in knowing what people to train as leaders.

As we begin this new term of ministry, we realize once again that nothing eternal can be accomplished without your prayer support. Join us in praying Psalm 90:17 for our ministry:

May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us;
establish the work of our hands for us-
yes, establish the work of our hands.
Working together for His eternal purposes.
